Tax on every line
An Excel formula exercise from Formuladrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
Calculate the total including tax for each line: price times quantity times (1 plus the tax rate). The tax rate sits in G1. Lock it with dollar signs so the same formula could be copied down the column.
What this exercise teaches
An absolute reference does not shift when you copy a formula, which is how one rate cell can drive a whole column.
A hint if you get stuck
Typing $ before the column letter and the row number (as in $G$1) makes a reference absolute.
