Share of total
An Excel formula exercise from Formuladrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
Work out each channel's share of total revenue in C2:C5: the channel revenue divided by the sum of all four channels. Lock the total range with dollar signs so one formula could be copied down the column.
What this exercise teaches
Share of total is the classic mixed-reference pattern: the numerator moves with each row while the locked denominator stays on the whole column. The shares add up to 100%, a quick sanity check.
A hint if you get stuck
Divide this row's revenue by SUM of the whole column. The SUM range needs $ on both ends: $B$2:$B$5.
