Discount rules
An Excel formula exercise from Formuladrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
The discount rule: a member (B = Yes) with an order of at least 100 gets 15%. Anyone else with an order of at least 200 gets 10%. Everyone else gets 0%. Fill D2:D5 as decimals (0.15, 0.1 or 0).
What this exercise teaches
The order of nested tests matters: a member with a 300 order satisfies both rules, so the 15% test must come first. AND inside IF keeps the two conditions of the first rule together.
A hint if you get stuck
Test the member rule first with IF(AND(...), 0.15, ...), then put a second IF for the 200 rule in the value-if-false slot.
