Sales between two dates
An Excel formula exercise from Formuladrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
Add up the sales dated from the date in E1 to the date in E2, both days included. Put the total in E3.
What this exercise teaches
Dates are numbers, so comparison criteria work on them. Joining the operator and the cell with & keeps the period adjustable without editing the formula, and the same pair of conditions gives a month-to-date or year-to-date total.
A hint if you get stuck
Two conditions on the same date column: ">="&E1 and "<="&E2. Both go into one SUMIFS.
