A count that ignores its threshold
An Excel formula exercise from Formuladrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
This sheet counts the scores above and at or below the threshold in E1. The numbers are right today, but when Nadia changed the threshold one of the two counts did not move. Find the formula that ignores E1 and fix it.
What this exercise teaches
A criteria string such as ">80" freezes the number inside the formula. ">"&E1 builds the same text from the cell, so the count follows the threshold. That is why the checker also runs the sheet with a different threshold.
A hint if you get stuck
Open each COUNTIF and look at the criteria. One has the threshold typed inside the quotes instead of joined to E1.
