Days late from text dates
An Excel formula exercise from Formuladrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
From Priya: "Due dates came from the old system as text, in two formats. In D2:D5, work out how many days late each invoice was paid. Negative means it was paid early."
What this exercise teaches
Dates stored as text cannot be subtracted. DATEVALUE converts them, and two real dates subtract to a number of days.
A hint if you get stuck
DATEVALUE turns a date written as text into a real date. Then subtract: paid minus due.
